Editors, analysts, and developers live in mixed spreadsheets of watch links, mobile shares, and embed codes. This extractor normalizes them to the 11-character ID so thumbnails, timestamps, and APIs have a clean key.
How to use this tool
- Paste one URL per line.
- Extract.
- Copy IDs or a clean watch URL list.
- Feed IDs into the thumbnail downloader or timestamp tool.
Formats we parse
youtube.com/watch?v=, youtu.be/, /embed/, /shorts/, /live/, and raw IDs. Extra query junk is ignored. Playlist parameters are not video IDs — we keep the v= value.
Professional notes
- Validate length 11. If you see a 24-character UC string, that is a channel.
- Music.youtube.com links still carry a v= parameter.
